In this 75-minute class, we’ll explore the transformative power of pranayama (breathwork or “conscious breathing” rooted in yogic wisdom) to self-regulate and balance the nervous system. We’ll begin with 15 minutes of gentle movement (asana) to open the chest, side body, and upper-mid back. After reviewing proper techniques, benefits, and contraindications, we’ll move into our pranayama practice. We’ll conclude with a grounding meditation and time for reflection. Beginners to yoga and breathwork are always welcome.
A note on my approach to breathwork - I teach breathwork using a trauma-informed lens as part of a holistic yoga practice. If you are pregnant or have been diagnosed with a lung condition, please contact me before registering to discuss whether this offering is suitable for you.
Location: Inner Light Community Center, 5150 Stilesboro Rd NW, Suite 320, Kennesaw, GA 30152
Due to the complexities of planning and facilitating group events, I ask that you notify me of any cancellations at least 48 hours before the event start time.
